English as an Additional Language (EAL)
At Ardingly Astana, we provide dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) support for pupils who require additional assistance to access the curriculum confidently in English. Our approach ensures that language development goes hand in hand with academic progress, enabling pupils to thrive within a fully English-medium environment.
Support is carefully tailored to individual need and delivered through targeted small-group or one-to-one sessions. The programme focuses on developing academic English, subject-specific vocabulary, and the language skills required for assessment and examination success.
EAL provision is designed not only to strengthen language proficiency, but also to build independence, resilience, and effective study habits. As pupils progress, support is gradually reduced, ensuring a smooth transition to full academic independence.
Importantly, EAL pupils remain fully integrated within mainstream classes and the wider life of the school. Language support enhances – rather than separates from – the curricular activities, and the broader school community.
