Cambridge International
AS & A Level

In Years 12 and 13, pupils at Ardingly Astana follow the Cambridge International AS & A Level programme, delivered by Cambridge Assessment International Education. Regarded as the gold standard of pre-university qualifications, A Levels provide rigorous academic preparation for entry to leading universities worldwide.

A Levels are defined by depth and intellectual challenge. Pupils typically specialise in three subjects, studying each in significant detail over two years. This focused approach enables genuine subject mastery and prepares pupils for competitive degree courses across a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, engineering, law, business, and the humanities.

The programme demands independence, resilience, and analytical precision. Pupils are expected to evaluate evidence critically, construct coherent arguments, think independently, and communicate with clarity and confidence – skills that are essential for success at university and beyond.

The qualification is structured in two stages: AS Level in Year 12 and A Level in Year 13. Final grades range from A* (the highest) to E. Cambridge International A Levels are widely recognised by universities across the UK, Europe, North America, and internationally, and are accepted by more than 950 institutions worldwide.

At Ardingly Astana, small class sizes, personalised academic mentoring, and dedicated university guidance ensure that each pupil is supported in achieving ambitious higher education goals.
