Secondary School
At Ardingly Astana, our Secondary School follows the Cambridge Pathway from Lower Secondary through to IGCSE. This internationally benchmarked curriculum provides academic depth, intellectual challenge and clear progression towards further study.
Across these years, pupils grow from confident learners into independent young adults, developing subject mastery alongside critical thinking, enquiry, communication and resilience.
Their academic learning is complemented by a rich co-curricular programme in sport, performing arts, music, debate, STEM and pupil leadership, ensuring pupils develop confidence, teamwork and a strong sense of responsibility beyond the classroom.
Key Stage 3
Years 7–9 Ages 11–14
In Key Stage 3, pupils build on Primary foundations, exploring subjects in greater depth while developing independence and critical thinking.
They study a broad and balanced curriculum including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Computing, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Languages such as Kazakh, Russian and Mandarin.
Specialist teaching and project-based learning strengthen subject knowledge while developing problem-solving, collaboration and analytical skills. By the end of Year 9, pupils are academically confident and ready to begin IGCSE courses.
Key Stage 4
Years 10–11 Ages 14–16
In Years 10 and 11, pupils focus on the Cambridge IGCSE, gaining internationally recognised qualifications that lay a strong foundation for future academic success.
They begin to specialise in subjects while maintaining a balanced curriculum, ensuring both academic depth and breadth.
The IGCSE stage emphasises critical thinking, practical application of knowledge, and independent learning. Pupils are encouraged to take intellectual risks, work collaboratively, and develop resilience as they engage with more complex concepts.
By the end of Year 11, pupils leave Secondary School academically prepared, confident, and ready for the challenge of Sixth Form (AS и A Level), equipped with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to thrive in the next stage of their educational journey.
